Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Meta Pixel Debugger Pro Chrome extension (the "Extension") and this website collect, handle, store and share information. Meta Pixel Debugger Pro is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta Platforms, Inc.
1. Data we collect
The Extension only processes data needed to show you Meta Pixel activity on the web page you are viewing:
- Meta Pixel activity on the current page: pixel IDs, event names, event parameters (for example value, currency and content_ids), event IDs, and the URL of the page where an event fired.
- Customer data field names: the names of advanced matching fields a pixel sends (for example em or ph) and whether each value is hashed. The Extension never reads, displays or stores the values themselves.
- Cookie presence: whether the first-party _fbp and _fbc cookies exist on the page. Cookie values are not read or stored.
- Your settings: theme, notification and history preferences.
- Your email address, only if you sign in: when you choose to sign in to unlock Pro features, the Extension reads your Google account email address and sends it to our server to link the Pro features to your account.
Unless you sign in, the Extension does not collect personally identifiable information, browsing history beyond the pages where you open it, keystrokes, form contents, passwords, financial or health information, location, or any data from pages that do not run a Meta Pixel. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
2. How we handle data
All data is processed locally on your device, inside your browser, for one purpose only: to show you which Meta Pixel events fired, check them for errors and let you export them. Data is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to this single function, and is never sold.
3. How data is stored
- Event logs are kept in Chrome's temporary session storage on your device. They are deleted automatically when a tab is closed, when you close the browser, and by an hourly cleanup that removes logs older than 24 hours. You can clear them at any time with the Clear button or in Settings.
- Settings are kept in Chrome's local extension storage on your device until you change them or uninstall the Extension.
- Exports (JSON or CSV) are only created when you click Export and are saved as files on your own device.
- Your email address (if you signed in) is stored on our server and used only to identify your account and keep your Pro features linked to it.
Except for the optional sign-in email, we hold no copy of your data on any server.
4. How data is shared
We do not share, sell, rent or transfer any data to anyone. The only network request the Extension makes is sending your email address to our server when you choose to sign in. All other data leaves your device only if you choose to export a file and send it to someone yourself. We do not sell, rent or share your email address with third parties, and you can use the Extension without signing in — no email is collected unless you tap "Log in".
5. Permissions
- storage: saves your settings and the temporary event log for each tab.
- alarms: runs one hourly cleanup that deletes old event logs.
- notifications: shows an optional desktop alert when an event has an error. Off by default.
- sidePanel: displays the debugger in Chrome's side panel.
- Access to all websites: the Meta Pixel can run on any site, so the Extension needs to observe pixel requests on the page you are viewing to show them to you.
6. This website
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It stores only your cookie banner choice in your browser's local storage. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability, for a limited time.
7. Children
The Extension is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Your rights
Because all data stays on your device, you are in full control: you can view, export or delete it at any time from the Extension, or remove everything by uninstalling it. If you have questions about your rights under GDPR, CCPA or other laws, contact us.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and describe the change on our What's new page.
